90th Birthday Card for my Dad

Happy Saturday Crafters,

Today is my dad's 90th birthday and this is the card I made for him.

I saw this sentiment on a stamp set by Craftin Dessert Diva's but I didn't have time to order it to use on my card so I had to craft lift it.   I typed the sentiment  into my Silhouette software and sized it to this tag to print and cut it out.   NOTE: I will be purchasing the stamp set from Crafting Dessert Diva's soon because it is an adorable stamp set.     

The Elephant is from KaDoodle Bug Designs Eggie Buddies-Elephant which I modified by removing the peanuts.   I made a present for the elephant to hold from some scrap paper I had on my craft table from a previous card I made.  I added a ribbon bow to the top of the present.   I cut some balloons from a file in my Silhouette library with different ages working up to the big 90 and used twine for the strings that I wrapped around the elephant's trunk.    I used one of my Copic markers to put lines on his arms and trunk.

The card base is from a shape I had in my Silhouette Design Studio software that I copied and then welded together to make this shape card.

Anniversary Card for my Hubby

Happy 4th of July Crafters,

Today I'm sharing a card I made for my husband for our 27th wedding anniversary.   

When we were dating he use to tease me at time by mouthing Olive Juice instead of I Love You because from a distance it looked like he was saying I Love You.   When I was trying to decide what to make him for our anniversary card I thought of olives and searched my Evernote database to see what images I had for olives and I found the Olive You file from My Scrap Chick that I thought was perfect for my anniversary card to him.   So the creating began.   

I did some modification to the file.  I wanted the mouth and red bow and oval to inset instead of on top of the olive so I placed the bow and oval on the olives where I wanted them and cut them out in black.  Then I put the mouth where I wanted them on the olives and cut them out along with the bow and oval in a green pattern paper from my stash.  I cut the original olives in red. 

Below is picture of my Silhouette Design Studio Screen so you can get a better idea of what I did.

This is what my screen looked like after I modified it.     

I copied the green olive, changed the color to black and placed the bow and oval on the black olive.  I then copied the black olive and changed the olive part to green and added the mouths.  Last I changed the original green olives to red.   Once I did all that I cut them all out and put them together.   

Now my card wouldn't be complete with out some kind of firework since we got married on the 4th of July so I searched my database for fireworks and found one with the Disney ship logo in it which was perfect because we love Disney and two years ago for our 25th anniversary we took a Disney Cruise to Alaska.  So to incorporate this firework into his anniversary card will bring back those fabulous memories.

I didn't use the Olive You from the My Scrap Chick file.  I chose to use a sentiment from Jaded Blossom instead that I heat embossed to make it stand out and also to be sparkly like a firework.

I am so happy with how this card turned out.  

Don't know why but it's extremely difficult to make cards for my hubby. Maybe it's because I over think it and want it to be perfect.

NOTE:  I modified this as well.  

Our wedding song is Always and Forever by Heatwave.   The sentiment was Olive You Forever and Always.  I cut the Forever and Always from the the Olive you and then cut the forever & always from the and.   I positioned them in my MISTI and stamped them with VersaMark and heat embossed it. 

Here's a close up of the firework.   I printed and then cut it out.  After it was cut out I used my Wink of Stella Glitter Brush to add sparkle to it. 

Here's a close up of those adorable olives.  Don't know if you can see it here but having the red of the bow & oval and the black of the mouth sunk in give it so much more character and dimension and my hubby said it made them look like real olives.

• Modified -- Cut Forever and Always from the Olive You and then cut those apart so I could rearrange them to read Always and Forever.

• Embossing Powder was called Bridal but I couldn't locate the brand name on it.  It just had PSX and made in Santa Rosa, CA.
• Firework from a Disney Facebook Page I belong to called Silhouette and Disney Lovers! and was a free file that Anne Wojahn Hober created and shared with the group.  Thank you Anne for this awesome file.  
• I removed the stars and switched the colors around since I was printing and cutting this out using my Silhouette software because I already had red as a main part of my card. 
• Accented the firework with Wink of Stella Glitter Brush pen.

My hubby opened the card this morning and loved it.

Turtle Birthday Card

Hello Crafters,

Today starts the PDE Linky Party #167 Anything Goes Challenge.

For this challenge I'm sharing with you a birthday card I made utilizing my eBrush to accent some of the pieces.

The back layer of the shaped mat was white and I used my eBrush with my green sharpie to ink the edges.  I like the way it looks like grass. I also used the eBrush on my balloons with various colors of Sharpies and Comic markers.

I then took a second piece of the blue background and used it to help me make the sky using Stampin' Up Brilliant Blue ink and a sponge.   I also used the eBrush on my balloons. 

The turtle is from Miss Kate Cuttables.  I got him when he was a freebie but you can find him in her $.50 section.   Below in the Card Recipe you will find a link to the turtle.

Licensed to Drive - 16th Birthday Card

Happy Friday Crafters,

Today starts the new PDE Linky Party Challenge.

This weeks challenge is #163 Cards.

For this challenge I'm sharing the card I made for my godson's 16th Birthday.

He was studying to get his license so I thought using Miss Kate Cuttables License to Drive Title would a perfect addition to his card, but I modified it by adding a "D', you'll see why.

After I put the card together I realized that I should've put the "&" after the 16 and the "Soon to be" under it but if I tried to remove them to rearrange it I would have destroyed the background so I left it as is.   Despite that little mess up I'm quite happy with how it turned out.

PDE Linky Party ~ #157 Anything but a Card Challenge

It's Friday time for the PDE Linky Party, #157 Anything but a Card challenge.

My Stampin' Up January 2017 Paper Pumpkin kit that arrived just in time for this challenge.

I was planning on making some valentine goodies and this kit had almost everything I needed to accomplish that task.  Of course I had to embellishment them with some cute valentine print and cut images from some of my favorite companies I like to get my SVG files from. 

Here they are.   

I didn't use the gold thread in the kit because it was too thin for me so I grabbed some gold embroidery floss from my stash and used that instead to add bows to the bags. 

I put two delicious Ghirardelli Squares in each bag for a sweet Valentine treat. 

I didn't like the way the back looked so I decided to use the heart stamped with one of the sentiments from the Paper Pumpkin kit to hide it.   Just used my ATG Gun to add adhesive to the heart and placed them to cover the back. 

Note:  Instead of using the square Calypso Coral ink pad included in the kit, I chose to use my Stampin' Up Regal Rose stamp pad to stamp the heart outline and sentiment.

PDE Linky Party #153 - Anything Goes

Happy Friday Crafters,

Today starts a new PDE Linky Party Challenge    

This week it's to make any project.  Can be whatever creation you make.

For those of you that know me or have followed my Facebook and Blog the past year or so, you know that every Christmas I try to come up with something creative to give money to my nieces, nephews and godchildren.   So today for the "Anything Goes" challenge I'm sharing with you what I made for them this year.   My nieces and nephews really got a kick out of them.   My godchildren won't get them until tomorrow so I'm hoping they don't see this blog post. :)

This year I decided make pizza out of money for their gift.   
Saw this idea on Pinterest but of course I had to make my own pizza box and add my own personal touch to them.   

This is the picture I saw on Pinterest that gave me the inspiration for my Christmas gift idea. 

 These are the front of my pizza boxes.

When they opened it, this is what they saw.

I had to fold the money to look like pizza slices with pizza crust and used a few pennies for pepperoni toppings.

A big thank you to my hubby for folding a majority of these bills for eleven pizza boxes.

Guest Designer for Miss Kate Cuttables ~ Various Birthday Cards

I have been wanting to share this news with you for months but had to keep it under wraps until today.    I was picked to be one of Miss Kate Cuttables Guest Designers for 2016 and I'm extremely excited and honored.  

Today I finally get to post this announcement and to share with you the cards I made with a few of the fabulous Miss Kate Cuttables files. 

I have been a fan of Miss Kate Cuttables files ever since my husband bought me the Silhouette Cameo for my birthday back in 2013.   While searching files in the Silhouette store I fell in love with many of her files and then discovered that you could purchase them directly from their website.   I love getting them directly from the MKC website because not only do you get the SVG file for paper piecing but you also get png & jpg's for when you want to print and cut.  

The first card up was created using the Zipline Adventures file and is one that I've wanted to make for a co-worker's birthday.    
Card base is 5-1/2" x 5-1/2"

I then made some birthday cards from the Happy Days file.   I have some friends that have some milestone birthdays coming up so I thought this set would be cute to make cards for them. 

For this card I used the car from this Happy Days file that looks like a '57 Chevy to me.  I used glossy accents for the windows. 

For the next card from the Happy Days file I used the retro radio.  

I used glossy accents on the radio to make it look shiny like I believe the radios were back then.

For my forth and final card I created a shaped card using a truck from the Monster Truck file. 

In my Silhouette software, I took one of the trucks and welded it to the dirt pile.  I then copied it, flipped it and moved it over until it was in a position to weld the two pieces together.  Cut out the dirt, truck and all the accent pieces and put them on the front of the card base I created.

I took today and tomorrow off work so I could sit in my craft room all day and create.  

I see my crafty friends make projects for challenges but I typically don't get any projects created in time so it was so nice to spend all day crafting and creating cards that will meet some challenges.
