Snowman "Frozen" Valentine - KaDoodle Bug Designs Magical Winter Wonderland

Happy Monday Crafters,

Hope you had a fabulous weekend and squeezed some crafting in.
I was able to complete a couple projects Sunday afternoon which made me happy.

The one I sharing with you today was made for the KaDoodle Bug Design "Anything Winter Related" Challenge that is ending this Thursday, January 22nd.   Check out all the details on their Facebook Page KBD Challenges.

My neighbor's little girls love Frozen and when I was at Target I saw these Frozen candy valentines I had to pick them up.
I could have just given these to them just as they were but no....as a crafter I had to "dress" them up.

I used a Tic Tac cover file from the Silhouette store and modified it to fit these candy boxes and added a rectangle cut out on the front so you could see the Elsa or Anna on the box.   Couldn't stop there.  I had to add a die cut to the front and of course I had to add Olaf the snowman.   For Olaf I used the snowman from KaDoodle Bug Designs Magical Winter Wonderland file.   Needed something for my sentiment so I grabbed a heart from KaDoodle Bug Designs You're Great Valentine file and sized it to 1.55" x 1.716".

Stamped it with the "# Love" sentiment from Craftin Dessert Diva's Teenage Dream stamp set.  Used VersaMark ink and embossed it.   Punched a hole in one corner and then tied it to the box with some twine.

I can't wait to give these to them.

Card Recipe:

  • Snowman from KaDoodle Bug Designs Magical Winter Wonderland file
  • Heart from KaDoodle Bug Designs You're a Great Valentine
  • Tic Tac Cover from Silhouette Store - Designs #69149 - modified to 7.698" x 5.625"
  • Sentiment from Craftin Dessert Diva's Teenage Dream stamp set
  • Twine from Pick You're Plum
Thanks for stopping by.
I hope I've inspired you to create some Valentines.
Happy Crafting!

Valentine Card ~ Cemented by Your Love

Hello Crafters,

It's the weekend.  Yippee!
What do you have planned for this weekend?
I'm hoping that after all my chores today I'll be able to get in my craft room tomorrow to make some cards.  I have ideas running through my head that are just anxious to get made.

Today I would like to share with you a Valentine Card I made.
I work in the construction field so when I saw the KaDoodle Bug Design new Construction Zone file, I knew I wanted to make a Valentine card with one or more of these images.   I decided to take the route that I haven't seen by other crafters by using the back hoe or dump truck.  So when "Cemented by Your Love" popped into my head I knew which direction I wanted to go.

In an after thought I wish I would have matted my sign and inked my clouds but overall I like how it turned out.

Card Recipe:

  • Card measures 9.25" H x 4" W and fits in a standard business envelope.
  • Cement/Concrete Truck from KaDoodle Bug Designs Construction Zone file.
  • Hearts coming out of the cement/concrete truck are from KaDoodle Bug Designs You're Great Valentine file.
  • Background~Sky, Clouds, Grass, Road is from Designs on Cloud 9 - Race Track Background where i modified the road in my Silhouette Studio Designer software to be wavy and sized it to fit my card.
  • Used Ranger Glossy Accents to make it shiny.
  • Used my white gelly-roll pen to write "Loads of Love" on the tires and accent the truck, sign and hearts.
  • Sign is from the Silhouette Store, Design ID #18118. I modified in my Silhouette Studio Designer software by  cropping one to make it look like the top half of a road sign filling it in with red and placing it on top of the one not modified filled in with blue.  I added the sentiment and then print and cut it out.
  • Sign post was from my scraps but it was embossed with one of my woodgrain embossing folders after I inked it with Ranger Walnut Stain ink.
Thanks for stopping by.
Appreciate and Cherish all comment.
