Sign for Wedding - Because Someone We Love is in Heaven

Happy Friday Crafters,

Today starts the PDE Linky Party #165 No Cards Challenge.

For this challenge I'm sharing with you a sign I made for my best friend's wedding.
She recently lost her father and her husband-to-be's mom had went to heaven years before and they wanted to acknowledge them at their wedding.  To do so she asked me to make a sign with this wording on it that she could place next to pictures of her dad and his mom and this is what I came up with.
I used a 12" x 12" canvas board I bought from Michaels.   I painted it with Martha Stewart Acorn craft paint.   I used Silhouette vinyl that she bought from Michaels, sorry I don't remember the color and I forgot to write it down.  :(
The one thing I wish I would have done is to put a few coats of Mod Podge over the words before I hot glued the shells onto the canvas.    Other than that I was happy how it turned out and how it matched her beach theme perfectly.

Project Recipe:
  • Artist's Loft® Necessities™ Canvas Panel - 12" x 12" from Michaels
  • Martha Stewart Craft paint - Color Acorn
  • Vinyl from Michaels
  • Shells from Michaels

Tag - Duck in Umbrella

Happy Friday Crafters,

Today is the new challenge over at PDE Linky Party's blog.

This week's challenge is #164 Tags

I made this tag with the mindset that I would eventually put it on a card.
Don't want a good craft project to not be used.  :)

I used the png file from the KaDoodle Bug Designs Cutie KaToodles-Rainy Day Duck file and added some liquid glass/glossy accents on the water.   I also used liquid glass/glossy accents to the rain drops on the digital background paper.
See below for a complete list of items used to make this tag.

Licensed to Drive - 16th Birthday Card

Happy Friday Crafters,

Today starts the new PDE Linky Party Challenge.
This weeks challenge is #163 Cards.

For this challenge I'm sharing the card I made for my godson's 16th Birthday.
He was studying to get his license so I thought using Miss Kate Cuttables License to Drive Title would a perfect addition to his card, but I modified it by adding a "D', you'll see why.
After I put the card together I realized that I should've put the "&" after the 16 and the "Soon to be" under it but if I tried to remove them to rearrange it I would have destroyed the background so I left it as is.   Despite that little mess up I'm quite happy with how it turned out.

Card Recipe:
  • Card Base 5-1/2"x5-1/2"
  • Miss Kate Cuttables License to Drive Title
  • Background from a file I purchased from the Silhouette store
    • Speed Limit Birthday Road Sign - Design ID#33731
  • 16, Soon to be, and D were cut out using a font in my Silhouette program.
Hope you join us in this challenge.

Birthday Card - PDE Linky Party ~ #162 Anything Goes

Happy Friday Crafters,

Today starts the PDE Linky Party #162 Anything Goes Challenge.

For this challenge I'm sharing with you a birthday card I made for my niece using a colored digital stamp and digital paper from The Paper Shelter.

For the teal and burgundy papers behind the pattern paper I used the color fill feature in my Silhouette software by pulling these two colors from the pattern paper.

Here's what my screen looked like before I printed it and then cut it with my Silhouette Cameo.

Note how I put the shadow background to the skateboard girl in the center of the burgundy square.  I did this to save ink and so I could print everything on one sheet because you wouldn't see the hole when it's layered all together.   I also cut a skateboard girl without being on a background so I could pop her up on top of the skateboard girl on the background.   Hope that makes sense.

Here's the finished card.   I love how this turned out.

See, if I didn't tell you, you would never know that there is a hole in the burgundy paper used on this card. :)

Hard to see but she is popped up with dimensional squares.
