Guest Designer for Miss Kate Cuttables ~ Various Birthday Cards

Happy Friday Crafters,

I have been wanting to share this news with you for months but had to keep it under wraps until today.    I was picked to be one of Miss Kate Cuttables Guest Designers for 2016 and I'm extremely excited and honored.

Today I finally get to post this announcement and to share with you the cards I made with a few of the fabulous Miss Kate Cuttables files.

I have been a fan of Miss Kate Cuttables files ever since my husband bought me the Silhouette Cameo for my birthday back in 2013.   While searching files in the Silhouette store I fell in love with many of her files and then discovered that you could purchase them directly from their website.   I love getting them directly from the MKC website because not only do you get the SVG file for paper piecing but you also get png & jpg's for when you want to print and cut.

The first card up was created using the Zipline Adventures file and is one that I've wanted to make for a co-worker's birthday.
Card base is 5-1/2" x 5-1/2"

I then made some birthday cards from the Happy Days file.   I have some friends that have some milestone birthdays coming up so I thought this set would be cute to make cards for them.

For this card I used the car from this Happy Days file that looks like a '57 Chevy to me.  I used glossy accents for the windows.

For the next card from the Happy Days file I used the retro radio.
I used glossy accents on the radio to make it look shiny like I believe the radios were back then.

For my forth and final card I created a shaped card using a truck from the Monster Truck file.
In my Silhouette software, I took one of the trucks and welded it to the dirt pile.  I then copied it, flipped it and moved it over until it was in a position to weld the two pieces together.  Cut out the dirt, truck and all the accent pieces and put them on the front of the card base I created.

Here is a screen shot of my Silhouette Studio so you can see what It looked like on the screen when I was done creating the card base.

Here is the inside of the card.

I used the glossy accents on the window.

A big thank you to Miss Kate Cuttables for the opportunity to be a Guest Designer.   I had so much fun making these projects.

Be sure to check out Miss Kate Cuttables website to see all the spectacular files and also to get the freebie of the day.   Yes she has a free file everyday.  What better way to try out her files, but don't say I didn't warn you, once you try them you'll be hooked.

Thanks for stopping by.
Happy Crafting!

Celebrating Bear Birthday Card

Happy Hump Day Crafters,

Back in May of 2015 I went to a New Kids on The Block concert with a friend who is a die hard NKOTB fan.   At the end of this concert they sprayed a bunch of confetti into the crowd.  So of course I had to grab some of that confetti.  I secretly stuffed it in my pocket because I knew I wanted to use it on her birthday card.   So I brought it home, put it in a ziplock baggie and put it in plain sight on my craft table so I wouldn't forget to use it.

Yesterday was her birthday so I can share the card with you today.   She was so surprised that I kept the confetti and incorporated it into her birthday card.   I'm pretty sure she liked it. :)

Here is her card closed.

Here is her card opened.

And here is a close up of the bear and confetti.

Card Recipe:
  • Bear holding the champagne bottle is from the KaDoodle Bug Designs  Cutie KaToodles - It's Midnight Somewhere file.
    • I used the jpg and did a print and cut.
    • Can't see it but I added a touch of Wink of Stella Brush Clear Glitter pen to the champagne glass.
  • Card base is from the Silhouette Store ~ A2 Happy Birthday Cupcake Easel Card~Design #116484
    • I only used the card base from this file.
  • Sentiment from Scrappy Moms Stamps "More Mini Messages" stamp set.

Die Cuttin' Diva's Challenge - National Craft Month ~ Use paint chips

Happy Tuesday Crafters

I'm so excited to be a Guest Designer for Die Cuttin' Diva's March 8th Challenge.

It's National Craft Month so this challenge is to Use Paint Chips.

This was a fun challenge because I had to think how I was going to use paint chips.

For my project I used several paint chips to create the majority of the chocolate bar on my card.

After I finished the card and took a step back I wish I would've used paint chips for the background and for the balloons.

These are the paint chips I used.
Had to take a picture to prove that I used some because it looks like I used paper to create the chocolate bar. ;)

Card Recipe:

  • Standard A2 Card Base.
  • Chocolate bar is from PPBN Designs "Cute Chocolate Bar".
    • Created using multiple paint chips.
    • Foil was wrapped around bottom piece
    • Face from Peachy Face from PK-0182 Sweet and Silly Face Assortment set.
      • Stamped with Black StazOn Ink because regular ink wouldn't stamp dark enough on the green paint chip.
  • Sentiment shockingly is not from Scrappy Moms Stamps... it's from a set I have in my stash from Zenspirations called "Let them Eat Cake" set.
  • The red mat was cut using the Spellbinders Nestabilites S4-317~Fleur De Lis Rectangles set
  • Tag & Balloons are from my Silhouette library.
  • Twine is Darice red twine.

Thanks for stopping by.

I hope you have some time go get some crafting in and  join Die Cuttin' Diva's in this Paint Chip challenge.

If you can, please link up your project over at the Die Cuttin' Diva's blog.

While visiting be sure to check out the wonderful projects the Die Cuttin' Diva's Design Team created for this challenge.
