Hello Crafters
(For the 5/19/15 Scrappy Moms Stamps TTC Animal Challenge click here.)
I'm ecstatic that I get to be the Guest Designer for Die Cuttin' Diva's "Must Include a Flower Challenge" that starts today.
For this challenge I chose to use the adorable skunk from the KaDoodle Bug Designs Cutie KaToodles - Flower Skunk file because she's surround by pretty flowers and thought it would make a scent-sational birthday card.
I love paper piecing but with working full time I sometimes don't have time to cut and put the little pieces together, which is why I love it when KaDoodle Bug Designs files have jpgs as part of their file options.
I pulled the KaToodle Skunk jpg into my Silhouette Studio Designer Software, trace it, crop it to remove the white area around it, and then offset it to get a little white border around the image. Once I got that done, I printed it and then put it through my Silhouette Cameo to cut it out. Of course my image has to have a shadow behind it to help it pop form the pattern paper behind it so I use the offset option again to create it.
Below are pictures of the final project.
It's an easel card :)
Of course I had to put her on an action wobble.
Pulled the top back so you could see it the skunk and sentiment together.
Close up of the sentiments I used.
- Sentiments from Scrappy Moms Stamps Hooray for Birthdays and Furry Friends stamp sets.
- Image is from KaDoodle Bug Designs Cutie KaToodles - Flower Skunk file
- Used Gelly Roll pens to add some accents.
- Scallop Easel Card from the Silhouette Store Design #43211
- Bling from my stash.
- Digital paper that I think but not 100% sure is from Prettygrafik.
