Christmas Candy/Money Holder Gifts

Hello Crafters,

Every year I try to come up with a unique way to give our niece, nephews and godchildren their Christmas gifts.   Because they are older we give them money but I can’t just put it in an envelope and give it to them.   Noooo I have to do something crazy or fun for them.

This is where I sometimes turn to Pinterest to help me come up with ideas.

This year I made money holders and I put the money under a chocolate bar.  I put the money holder in a tin from the dollar store and then zip-tied the tin with I don’t know how many zip ties.  I purchased the zip ties from Harbor Freight when they were having a good sale on them.

The money holder is from the Silhouette Store Design #52345 which I modified a bit.
The images, except Snoopy, are from the Silhouette Store.  They are print and cut files.   I accented them with my Wink of Stella Clear brush pen and my white gelly roll pen. I also offset them to cut out a shadow to put behind them to make them stand out a little more against the pattern paper.

Christmas Moose with Present – Design#51283
Rudy the Reindeer Holding Candy Cane – Design #51904

Here are some pictures of the money holder closed.

Found the Snoopy image on google images.

Here is a picture of one of the money holders opened.  (Sorry didn’t take a picture of it inside the tin.)

Here are pictures of the tins.
I was going to cut the end of the zip ties but hubby said leave them because it makes them look more menacing.
They had a good laugh when I handed them out and made a contest out of it to see who could get the tin out first without cutting the zip ties.   I really wish I recorded it on video because our nephew’s fiancĂ© was so fierce and pulled the zip ties apart.

Scrappy Moms Stamps Memories of Christmas Past

Happy Friday Crafters

It's one week until Christmas.
Are all your presents wrapped and projects made?
I'm so far behind..but I'm trying not to stress to much and just enjoy the season.
If something doesn't get done, it doesn't get done.

Today, the Scrappy Moms Stamps Design Team are sharing their favorite Christmas projects they've made in the past with a Scrappy Moms Stamp Sentiment.
Check out all my Design Sisters blogs to see their favorite projects they've made with a Scrappy Moms Stamps sentiment and then go over to the Scrappy Moms Stamps blog and leave a comment over there what your favorite project or technique shared by the Design Team for a chance to win a set of Scrappy Moms Stamps of your choice.

My Christmas Past project I'm sharing was made last year with a sentiment from the Scrappy Moms Stamps "Merry Kissmas" stamp set.   These were given as gifts to friends and family.

I bought whisks at the dollar store and filled them with Hersery Kisses put a treat bag around it to keep the kisses from falling out, tied it with some ribbon and accented them with the cute Scrappy Moms Stamps sentiment "Merry Kiss-mas".  Simple but fun gift.

Thanks for stopping by.   Hope you liked my Scrappy Moms Stamps Memory of Christmas Past project.
Be sure to go over to Scrappy Moms Stamps blog to get more details on how you can win a stamp set and also check out what Memories of Christmas Past my Design Team Sisters posted on their blogs.

Scrappy Moms Stamps Terrific Tuesday Challenge - Dreaming of a White Christmas

Happy Tuesday Crafters

I'm sure everyone is busy with the holiday season preparations.  My living room looks like a whirlwind went through it. Piles of Christmas decorations cover almost every surface.   Need to get the bins put back in the rafters in the garage and I'll be able to breath a little more.   With all the decorating I do, I did manage to squeeze in a few moments to create a card for this challenge.

The new Scrappy Moms Stamps Terrific Tuesday Challenge (TTC) theme is to use snow, snowflake, snow angel, or anything white on your project.

Photobucket

I chose to use mostly white on my project which just happened to include snow, snowflakes and a snowman.
I purchased this card from the Silhouette store and I loved how easy it was to cut and put together.
I added the "There's SNOW one like you!" sentiment from the Scrappy Moms Stamps "Winter Wishes" stamp set.  Figured I would use it as a thank you card.

Here's a close up of the snowman.

This card had three layers, and two of the layers were popped up with dimensional tape. Heres a side view of the card so you can see how I added the dimensional tape.

Card Recipe:
  • Card from the Silhouette Store -- A2 Snowman Pop Dot Card ~Design #101040
  • Snowman face is from Peachy Keen Stamps PD-445 Happy Snow Couples Face Assortment.
  • Used my orange Gelly Souffle pen for his nose and my Metallic Green Gelly pen for his eyes.
  • For the top of the snow mounds I used glue and Recollections Glass Gilitter.
  • I put the snowflakes on my VersaMark stamp pad then I covered them Sparkle & Sprinkle Winter White Embossing Powder (EP409) and heat embossed them.
  • Buttons from my stash.
  • Sequins from my stash.

I hope you have some time go get some crafting in and  join us in this challenge.

Minnie Mouse Birthday Card - Pinterest Inspired

Hello Crafters,

I have a bunch of projects that I've been creating but been so tired that I haven't had extra energy to type up something cute about them in a post.   So my goal for the next couple of weeks is to try and post at least two projects a week.

I know everyone is making Christmas projects but I can't post the one project I have made because it's a gift and I don't want to spoil the surprise.  I also haven't completed the other Christmas projects yet so today I'm going to share with you a birthday card I made for my husband's great niece.
I can not take credit for the design of this card.   I found this design on Pinterest and loved it so much that I copied the layout and added a few more embellishments     Found this Minnie Mouse on Google Images and pulled it into my Silhouette Cameo software to do a print and cut.

Here is the card closed.

Below is the easel card opened.
I wrote on it before I took pictures so I had to get creative to block out the names.

Card Recipe:
  • Sentiments on the inside of this card are from Scrappy Moms Stamps "Hooray for Birthdays! stamp set.
  • Pattern Papers are digital paper from Prettygrafik's called Little Artist.
    • Sized the shapes in my Silhouette software, printed then cut them out.
  • The flower and brad I bought at one of the Scrapbook Expos.   Don't remember which vendor I bought them from.
Thanks for stopping by.
Hope you enjoy your week.

Scrappy Moms Stamps Terrific Tuesday Challenge - Tag it!

Happy Tuesday Crafters

Hope you all have recovered from your Thanksgiving holiday and are starting your Christmas Cheer.

Today is the new Scrappy Moms Stamps Terrific Tuesday Challenge (TTC) and the theme is to use a tag in/on your project.

Photobucket

I love making my own gift tags for the Christmas presents I give to family and friends so this challenge was perfect timing for me because it made me stop and create some gift tags for it using sentiments from a few Scrappy Moms stamp sets.

Since gift tags get damaged or thrown away I don’t like to spend my time doing the paper piecing for the images I use which is why I love designers that include jpg or png with their SVG files so I can use them to print and cut when I want to.
Here are a couple of tags where I used the same image but they were cut in two different sizes and I paired them with different sentiments.

This larger Penguin was cut at 3.007” high x 2.240” wide and was paired with the “Christmas is Love with all the Trimmings!” sentiment from the Scrappy Moms Stamps “Winter Wishes” stamp Set.

I used various colors of Zig Wink of Stella glitter brush pens to make the lights sparkle.   (Hard to see in the pic but they look cute in person.)   I also used Liquid Applique to accent the hat.

Here's a close up of the larger penguin so you can see the Wink of Stella glitter pens and Liquid AppliquĂ©

This smaller Penguin was cut at 1.804” high x 1.344” wide and was paired with with the “Christmas is Love with all the Trimmings!” sentiment from the Scrappy Moms Stamps “Winter Wishes” stamp set and “have a Holly Jolly holiday!” sentiment from the  Scrappy Moms Stamps “A Holiday to Remember” stamp set.

On this tag I used a snowglobe image that I printed and then cut out.   Embellished it with some Liquid Applique on the hat, used Zig Wink of Stella clear glitter brush pen for the snowman to make him shimmery (can’t see it in the photo) and I used Creative Imaginations Paper Pen Opal color to make the snow flakes pop and to make him look like he’s sitting on snow at the bottom.  I paired this little guy with the “a little something for you” sentiment from the Scrappy Moms Stamps “Merry Kissmas” stamp set.

  • “have a Holly Jolly holiday!” sentiment from the  Scrappy Moms Stamps “A Holiday to Remember” stamp set
  • “a little something for you” sentiment from the Scrappy Moms Stamps “Merry Kissmas” stamp set.
  • Penguin is Miss Kate Cuttables Penguin with Lights.  It was Freebie of the Day back on 12/3/2014 but you can purchase it from the Miss Kate Cuttables website.
  • Snowman Snow Globe is also a Freebie of the day from Miss Kate Cuttables on 11/25/2015 called Snowman Snow Globe
  • Tags are from my Silhouette library
