Sympathy Cards

Hello Crafters,

Today I'm sharing some cards that are my least favorite to make as I'm sure it is with you.  I had a co-worker who's mother-in-law that passed away Monday and last night I got a call from my dad that my stepmom's second son passed away suddenly.  This news broke my heart for her because she lost a son unexpectedly four months ago and I can on imagine the pain and the void she is feeling.

I always struggle when it comes to creating sympathy cards so I went to Pinterest to get inspiration.  So these cards are not my own ideas and I am so appreciative of getting inspiration and ideas from other crafters.

This first card is for my co-worker.  I used one of the embossing folders from Cuttlebug Paper Lace II set and the Darice embossing frames to keep it from embossing the oval portion.   I used my markers to color the stems and flowers on a Hero Art stamp and stamped it in the oval.   The sentiment is from Scrappy Moms Stamps "From the Inside Out" stamp set.   Added a bow and a few gems.

The second card I made for my stepmom.   I found the saying on Pinterest and retyped it and put it front of the card.  Once again I used the "With Sympathy" stamp from the Scrappy Moms Stamps "From the Inside Out" stamp set.  The fern stamp on the mat is from my stash, not sure where I got it from.

Thanks for stopping by.

KaDoodle Bug Designs "Tag" Challenge

Hello Crafters,

Today I'm sharing with you a tag I made for the KaDoodle Bug Designs "Tag" Challenge going on right now.   (Note: This challenge ends tomorrow Thursday, April 16, 2015)

My tag is a thank you tag for a friend who did something super special for me that touched me deeply and I wanted to let her know how much it touched me.

For my tag I embellished it with a doggie from the KaDoodle Bug Designs Thank You Birthday Dogs file with out the party hat.   The doggie is holding a label punched with the Stampin' Up Decorative punch.  The paw print ribbon and paw stickers were a birthday gift from another sweet friend and thought they added the purrfect touch to the tag.

For the tag on the inside I used a sentiment from the Scrappy Moms Stamps Simply Said! stamp set and used the paw print stickers as a pull.

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you can find time to create a tag using one of the fabulous KaDoodle Bug Designs to join us in this challenge over at https://www.facebook.com/groups/256722621153463/

Easter Project

Happy Easter Crafters

Today I would like to share with you some Easter gifts I made for my great niece and niece and nephews.

I purchased an adorable stripped box with a ribbon handle from the dollar section at Target knowing I wanted to decorate the front and fill it with goodies for my great niece.   When trying to decide what image to decorate it with I decided not to go with the standard easter bunny, chick or lamb when I saw the adorable PTC Easter Dragons file by KaDoodle Bug Designs.

For the front of this box/basket I used the standing dragon from the KBD PTC Easter Dragon file.
Here is a picture of the finished project.

You can't see it but I used Wink of Stella Brush pen on the bows to add some sparkle to it and my Gelly Roll pens for accents.  I also used some Copic markers to ink to cover up the white edges because they were printed on white paper.

For my older niece, nephews and cousin I used some purple boxes I purchased from the  Pick Your Plum website about a month ago and also decorated them with the adorable PTC Easter Dragon file from KBD.

For my niece I put the larger standing dragon on the front of hers, for my nephews I used the sitting dragon and for my cousin I used the smaller standing dragon.

Wish I would've taken a picture of the side view so you could see how cute they look with all the pieces popped up with dimensional squares or tape.  I have a couple more projects that I'll be posting later that I'll make sure to get the side view of them. :)

Card Recipe:
  • KaDoodle Bug Designs PTC Easter Dragon file.
  • Accents with white Gelly Roll pen and the Fl.Pink and Blue Gelly Roll pens from the Moonlight set.

Thank you for stopping by.  I hope you enjoyed seeing my Easter gifts even though they're not the best Easter gifts given because no one can top the gift that Christ gave to us.

I enjoy and cherish all comments.
Happy Crafting!
