PDE Linky Party Friday Challenge - #161 No Cards

Happy Friday Crafters,

Today starts the PDE Linky Party #161 No Card challenge.

For this project I made a St. Patrick's day gift box.

I saw this cute Leprechaun Bowler Hat box in the Silhouette store and thought it was cute so I bought it to make for St Patrick's Day.

I inked all the edges with Glorious Green ink from Stampin' Up and added a sentiment from Craftin Desert Divas Happy Celebrations set.

I modified the file a bit by cutting an extra piece for the top of the hat.  I didn't like the way it looked unfinished so I took the little hexagon piece included in the file that goes on the inside of the hat and enlarged it to 1.5".

See the small hexagon placed on the inside of the hat here?
This is the piece I enlarged to 1.5" to put on the top of the hat.
I also cut a extra piece of the hat rim with the hexagon cutout to cover the edges.   Sorry I didn't take a picture of it before I added it.

It bothered me that it didn't have something that covered the pieces coming together so I had to cover it.  Sorry call me a crazy crafter but I just couldn't let it go looking incomplete.

Here is the top of the hat before I added the hexagon I cut out at 1.5".

Here is the hat after I added the extra 1.5" hexagon I cut out.
Doesn't it look so much better?

I added some Hersey's Gold Nuggets as the leprechaun's gold.

Here's what the hat looks like with the bottom inserted into the top of the bowler hat.

Project Recipe:

PDE Linky Party Friday Challenge - #159 Cards

Happy Friday Crafters,

Today starts the new PDE Linky Party Friday Challenge.
This weeks challenge is my favorite cards.

Back in 2015 SVG Cutting Files had a blog hop called Hakuna Matata Lion King Blog Hop where you were able to get free files by hopping along.
One of those files was the quirky Ed.

As I was scrolling though my files to figure out what I was going to design, I saw Ed and knew he would be fun to put on an age type birthday card.
In fact I fell in love with him I made two cards with him but slightly different.

For the first card I paired Ed up with the "Your Age Does Not Compute" sentiment from Jaded Blossom Robotastic stamp set.
I thought it was perfect with the way he's tilting his head and still makes me laugh when I see it.

For the second card I paired Ed up with the "You're How Old?" sentiment from Scrappy Moms Stamps Whimsical Words Stamp set.  Doesn't he look mischievous asking someone how old they are?  HeHeHe...

Happy Friday Crafty Friends,

Today starts a new challenge over at PDE Linky Party.
This week's challenge is one of my favorite challenges because any crafty item you make can be entered into this challenge.

With that said, of course my project for this challenge is...yep... a card.  :)

This is an anniversary card I made for my in-laws.

Card Recipe:
  • Card base is from the Silhouette Design Store - Scalloped Circle Flip Swing Card - Design ID #91893
  • Image is from Digi Scrap Kits - Tweeting as One
    • Used the tweetingasone1-s1.png from this file.
  • Sentiment is from Scrappy Mom Stamps From the Inside Out 2 stamp set.
  • Found the saying for the inside of the card from the internet.

Thanks for stopping by.
